This has been an amazing two months. Two weeks ago we had the best small group meeting I could have asked for. All of my guys showed up and even ended up bringing a new friend named Marcos. We talked about the verse where Jesus gives a major statement; to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, and soul.” We talked about having a mind that is in love with God and how you can do everything for the glory of the Lord. Loving the Lord with your mind is THE answer to many of the issues that we deal with. Anyone that is dealing with sin should practice this because the only answer to the question of sin is to get our mind on God.

I also had a wonderful night last Thursday night. A significant part of the internship is learning a significant amount about preaching and biblical studies. I had the privilege of preaching at the Chi Alpha house for our Thursday night over Philippians ch2. It really is astounding how the leaders trust us our walk with God and and what the Lord is doing in our lives. They took care of me very well; asking if I needed any help. I met with pastor Jason Bell and also my good friend and resource group leader Eli Stewart. They were very helpful and answering the questions I had about the chapter and also in structuring my thoughts.

The Lord really helped me. I bragged about one of my small group guys and especially my dad who I used in an example to describe God’s character. It was a big deal to me to be able to brag on my dad. Some amazing stories came out of it and several friends informed me that the Lord had spoken to some of their small group members. The goal with these things are that Jesus is glorified and is made the central part of the entire night. It is a wonderful thing to be used by God and He reminds me everyday that there isn’t ANYTHING like it.

I’m so grateful to be a part of this team. Be praying for our small groups and that the Lord would guide and speak to us. I want so badly for all of us to grow closer to Jesus with an intimacy that we’ve never experienced before. Be praying for me that I can be the example I need to be.
